SAN LORENZO USD MASTER PLAN | San Lorenzo, CA
The San Lorenzo Unified School District prioritized modernization and new construction projects at 3 high school campuses across the District, funded by two General Obligation bonds. Projects included replacing relocatable classrooms with permanent buildings, providing new science labs and renovating existing facilities. A4E worked with the District to create campus Master Plans for Arroyo High School, San Lorenzo High School and Royal Sunset High School. Each Master Plan outlined the scope of work and probable costs, then detailed campus-specific improvements. Small Learning Communities are established at each site, within the context of the classroom buildings. Changing circulation in and around each building allows corridors to be used for meetings or project research. Decentralized curriculum, counseling and administration offer a support network directly in the midst of students’ daily lives. The Small Learning Communities are established within the cohesive whole of each comprehensive high school – with its own unique identity and traditions.
