NUVIEW ES LIBRARY & ADMIN. OFFICES | Nuevo, CA

This ‘kick-off’ project for the Nuview USD’s bond program centered on the addition of a new Library Media Center and bold new campus entry, along with renovations to best utilize / expand existing administrative space. The modest budget for this project nevertheless effected visible and positive change at the District’s oldest campus. The addition was constructed at the front of the campus, facing the town’s main street and accomplishing several key goals: locating the Library to function as a community resource; providing an appropriately-scaled entry point and lobby for the campus; improving the public ‘face’ of the school; linking the existing separate administration areas into a single renovated and expanded building. The lobby’s double-height space is light-filled during the day and a beacon at night – a welcoming portal to the school.
