TZU CHI FOUNDATION | San Dimas, CA
The campus Master Plan for this renowned charitable organization addresses the natural beauty of its site in the hills of Southern California, along with its worldwide mission to accomplish charitable good works. The campus is a place of both productive activity and serenity. Tzu Chi Foundation’s San Dimas campus is the U.S. headquarters for this organization, now present in 70 countries. Originally home to then-fledgling Cal Poly Pomona, the site is graciously developed with traditional Spanish-style buildings set among the native oaks. The phased growth plans for this property include removal of unused classroom buildings, construction of upgraded Administrative Offices, a Performing Arts Theater, dormitories to house retreat visitors, and a Scatter Garden for the ashes of departed loved ones. Our initial task was to update Tzu Chi’s existing CUP and accomplish approvals with the several County, City, and State authorities governing this work.
